Dr. Michael Murphy is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and a diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine.

Dr. Murphy earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and completed an Anesthesiology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He has been in practice since 1986.

He is a member of multiple professional associations including the American Academy of Pain Medicine, Texas Medical Association, Bexar County Medical Society and American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians among many others.

In addition to his busy practice, Dr. Murphy finds time to serve on multiple boards. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Board for Physicians Ambulatory Surgery Center and a Medical Board Member at Foundation Surgery Affiliates. He is also on the board at STAR Anesthesia.

Besides work, Dr. Murphy enjoys golfing. He is married to Lynn Murphy who is a corporate attorney and they have two children.
